ABOUT US

Life is better around the campfire.

About get out and go RV

Let me first say that I have NEVER been camping…but I love the idea. I love being outside. I love animals, nature and dream of having the free time to enjoy all that the great outdoors has to offer. Enter Stephanie who has been camping many times and also shares my love for all of the things I’ve just mentioned. I am also fascinated with the tiny house craze and strive on at least a weekly basis to get rid of unnecessary possessions so that we can free ourselves from the clutter of life and enjoy experiences rather than stuff.

Steph and I started looking at campers with the thought of maybe someday buying a small camper. We went to shows, bought magazines, searched online and found plenty of things we didn’t like. Then, Steph came across the website for Little Guys and we fell in love. We signed up for their newsletter and I emailed them to see if they could custom fit a cabinet area to fit a travel size parrot cage in case Sammie the African Grey wanted to go on a camping trip with us. She enjoys riding in the car in her travel cage and I thought it would be great to have a place to slide that cage into the camper. Chris Baum emailed me back within hours to tell me that unfortunately they are not customizing the Little Guys.

Several days later there was an email from Little Guy with the announcement of the Little Guy Mini Max. While checking out the newest addition, I noticed a link “To Become a Dealer.” As the cursor hovered over that link, the site crashed. I went back to doing my day job and didn’t think much more about it until the next day. Another email came in apologizing for the crash, but thanking everyone for their interest in the Mini. The site was back up and running and I hit the link to become a dealer. One thing led to another and in just a month or so we were signing the dealer agreement.

This is not as far-fetched as it sounds – I am already a car dealer, and I had extra space and an extra office suite – so in my mind it all made perfect sense. Even Steph, who is a Director of Finance and Human Resources for an engineering firm by day, loved the idea! So, we added Little Guys to a property shared with Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Hoopeston. About a block away you will find Ford of Hoopeston that I also own with partner Rick Martinez.

We hope you will sign up for updates and crazy tales as Steph teaches me how to camp and I teach her how to run a dealership. It is going to be a wild ride and we hope you join us.

About Little Guy Trailers

Late in 2002, an idea was hatched in North Canton, Ohio to bring the past to the present. The idea to resurrect and take teardrop camper trailers to the masses was taken over to a couple brothers in Elkhart, Indiana where they began prototyping a 4×8 Retro trailer in their garage.

While a lot has changed since the introduction of teardrop trailers on the American highway, the reasons for owning a teardrop trailer are the same today as they were when your father or grandfather built his teardrop in the family garage.

Teardrop trailers are sleek, aerodynamic, and practical. Depending on the model, your teardrop trailer can sleep up to three adults or two adults and several children. Little Guy teardrop trailers can be pulled by any vehicle with a hitch—even the smallest of vehicles such as the Mini Cooper or the VW Beetle can easily tow a Little Guy teardrop trailer.
